South Central Meade County in west central South Dakota... Southeastern Pennington County in west central South Dakota... * Until 845 PM MDT. * At 801 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Owanka, or 31 miles east of Rapid City, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... New Underwood, Wasta, Owanka, Elm Springs, Wicksville, Creighton and Curlew Lake. This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 78 and 106. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large hail.
