Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 27 at 6:22PM MDT until June 27 at 6:45PM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD At 622 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles southwest of Intersection of Red Shirt and Cuny Table Roads, or 23 miles east of Hot Springs, moving northeast at 35 mph. HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Oral, Oelrichs, Buffalo Gap, Fairburn, Smithwick, Prairie Winds Casino, Dry Wood Housing, Hay Canyon Butte, Intersection of Red Shirt and Cuny Table Roads, Red Shirt Table Overlook, southwestern Badlands National Park and southwestern Pine Ridge Reservation. Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. This storm has produced dangerous hail and is capable of producing damaging winds. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM MDT Saturday for a portion of southwest South Dakota.
