Flash Flood Warning issued June 22 at 9:06PM EDT until June 22 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Mount Holly NJ At 906 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that may experience flash flooding include... Philadelphia, Bensalem, Florence, Burlington, Bristol, Beverly, Rockledge, Tullytown, Abington, Bryn Athyn, Andalusia and Feasterville-Trevose. This includes the following highways... Interstate 295 in New Jersey between mile markers 48 and 56. New Jersey Turnpike between exits 6 and 6A. Interstate 95 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 31 and 40. Pennsylvania Turnpike between mile markers 348 and 359. Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
