Flash Flood Warning issued July 10 at 4:28PM EDT until July 10 at 6:15PM EDT by NWS Pittsburgh PA At 428 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 2 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported several inches of water flowing across all lanes of Routes 66 and 20 in Armstrong County. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Homer City, Ford City, Freeport, Black Lick, West Lebanon, Manorville, Ford Cliff, Elderton, Lenape Heights, Shelocta, Jacksonville, Lucerne Mines, Brush Vly and Crooked Creek Lake Park. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
