Flood Watch issued June 25 at 2:21PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, northern, and northwest Oklahoma, including the following counties, in central Oklahoma, Lincoln, Logan and Payne. In northern Oklahoma, Garfield, Grant, Kay and Noble. In northwest Oklahoma, Alfalfa, Ellis, Harper, Major, Woods and Woodward. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rounds of thunderstorms is expected this afternoon, evening, and tonight across the watch area with very heavy rain possible. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Warning issued June 25 at 1:49PM CDT until June 27 at 2:00PM CDT by NWS Norman OK ...The National Weather Service in Norman OK has issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Oklahoma... Chikaskia River near Blackwell affecting Grant and Kay Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chikaskia River near Blackwell. * WHEN...From this evening to early Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 31.0 feet, Several city blocks in the northeast portions of Blackwell may be affected. Streets closest to the river may be nearly impassable... with depths approaching 2 feet. Highway 177 north of Blackwell is overtopped... and Hubbard Road southeast of Blackwell is closed. Rural lands are covered by floodwaters ranging up to 3 feet in depth in extreme northeastern Grant and Kay counties. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 26.3 feet. - Bankfull stage is 28.0 feet. - Forecast...The Chikaskia River is expected to rise above flood stage late this evening to a crest of 31.3 feet early tomorrow afternoon.
