Special Weather Statement issued June 23 at 3:51PM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC At 350 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles west of Goldsboro to Bladen Community College. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Goldsboro, Clinton, Mount Olive, Walnut Creek, Harrells, Roseboro, Garland, Newton Grove, Salemburg, and Turkey. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 342 and 359. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for central North Carolina.
