Flood Watch issued June 8 at 12:42PM CDT until June 9 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO The Flood Watch is cancelled for portions of east central Kansas, including the following area, Linn KS and Missouri, including the following areas, Bates, Carroll, Cass, Chariton, Cooper, Henry, Howard, Johnson MO, Lafayette, Pettis, Randolph, Ray and Saline. Flooding is no longer expected to pose a threat. Please continue to heed remaining road closures. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Heat Advisory issued June 8 at 9:24AM CDT until June 9 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Kansas City/Pleasant Hill MO * WHAT...Heat index values up to 106 expected. * WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central and west central Missouri. * WHEN...From noon to 10 PM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Missouri River at Boonville affecting Howard, Boone, Cooper and Moniteau Counties. ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Missouri... Missouri River at Glasgow affecting Chariton, Howard and Saline Counties. Missouri River At Miami affecting Carroll, Chariton and Saline Counties. Missouri River at Waverly affecting Carroll, Lafayette and Saline Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at Boonville. * WHEN...Until Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, Low-lying rural areas along the river flood. At 23.8 feet, Easley River Road and Smith Hatchery Road begin to flood. At 25.0 feet, Numerous farm levees are overtopped. Flooding of agricultural land and secondary roads occurs. Backwater flooding on Perche Creek causes flooding in McBaine. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:04 AM CDT Monday the stage was 23.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is cresting.
