Hinkson Creek at Columbia. River forecasts are based on observed precipitation and forecast precipitation for the next 24 hours. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Missouri River at Jefferson City. * WHEN...Until Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 24.5 feet, The Katy Trail Floods near Rocheport. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 4:45 AM CDT Monday the stage was 22.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this morning to a crest of 24.7 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow morning. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Rainfall heavier than forecast could cause river levels to rise even higher than predicted.
