Pearl River Near Bogalusa affecting Pearl River and Washington Counties. For the Lower Pearl River...including Bogalusa, Pearl River...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Pearl River near Bogalusa. * WHEN...Until late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Woodlands and crop acreage along the river will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto Wildlife Management area will be inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Monday the stage was 20.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:15 PM CDT Monday was 20.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage Saturday evening and continue falling to 10.6 feet Thursday, July 09. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.4 feet on 04/13/2005. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
