THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN LOUISIANA THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 2 PARISHES IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA ST. TAMMANY WASHINGTON IN MISSISSIPPI THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTHERN MISSISSIPPI HANCOCK HARRISON JACKSON PEARL RIVER THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BAY ST. LOUIS, BOGALUSA, COVINGTON, CROSSROADS, DIAMONDHEAD, ENON, FRANKLINTON, GAUTIER, GULFPORT, LACOMBE, MANDEVILLE, MCNEIL, MOSS POINT, OCEAN SPRINGS, PASCAGOULA, PICAYUNE, SLIDELL, ST. MARTIN, AND WAVELAND.

At 752 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Saucier and Lyman. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with locally very heavy rainfall are expected today and potentially continuing through tonight.
