Flood Watch issued June 13 at 7:53PM CDT until June 14 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms with heavy rain will impact southeast Kansas this evening and tonight. There is a potential for 2 to 3 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. This storm has a history of producing damaging winds. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. Locations impacted include... Parsons, Independence, Neodesha, Cherryvale, Caney, St. Paul, Elk City, Galesburg, Liberty, Havana, Bolton, Sycamore, Lake Parsons, Parsons Tri City Airport, Dennis, Elk City Lake, Big Hill Lake, Elk City State Park, South Mound, and Independence Airport. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding.
