Flood Warning issued June 21 at 9:59AM CDT until June 21 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Street flooding, county road flooding, and small stream flooding caused by last night's heavy rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of south central Kansas, including the following counties, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. * WHEN...Until 900 PM CDT Sunday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 959 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate between 3 and 6 inches of rain occurred last night across the warned area. This is causing flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, city streets, and other low-lying and flood- prone locations. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Derby, Arkansas City, Winfield, Haysville, Wellington, Mulvane, Rose Hill, Kingman, Clearwater, Cheney, Douglass, Belle Plaine, Harper, Conway Springs, Oxford, Garden Plain, Udall, Pretty Prairie and Burden. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock affecting Kingman County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock. * WHEN...From this morning to Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 9.0 feet, Minor overflow occurs along both banks. However, on the south side of the banks near the river bridge on SE 160th Avenue, flooding spreads out into pastureland to the extent of 1000ft. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.5 feet this evening. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
