Flood Warning issued June 28 at 8:04AM CDT until June 29 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas... Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine affecting Sumner County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine. * WHEN...Until tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Three miles west of Belle Plaine near the gage site, a small section of K55 floods east of the bridge. Flood waters flow over Highway 81 starting at 1/2 mile north of K55 and spreading to 100th Avenue. The water on Highway 81 may be near 1.5 ft deep. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:24 AM CDT Sunday the stage was 24.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this afternoon and continue falling to 12.0 feet Friday morning. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
