Flood Watch issued June 17 at 10:07AM CDT until June 17 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following areas, Hancock, Henderson, McDonough, Mercer, Rock Island and Warren, Iowa, including the following areas, Cedar, Clinton, Des Moines, Henry IA, Iowa, Jefferson, Johnson, Keokuk, Lee, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, Van Buren and Washington, and northeast Missouri, including the following areas, Clark and Scotland. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall, with some seeing repeating rounds of storms though the day. There will be the potential to see around 3 inches or more of rainfall. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flash Flood Warning issued June 17 at 9:47AM CDT until June 17 at 1:30PM CDT by NWS Quad Cities IA IL At 947 AM CDT, Emergency Management in Linn County reported flash flooding near 33rd Ave SW and 6th St SW as well as on Wylie Blvd north of Johnson Ave NW. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen this morning. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, West Branch, Marion, Coralville, North Liberty, Hiawatha, Mount Vernon, Lisbon, Fairfax, Solon, Tiffin, Ely, Walford, Springville, University Heights, Swisher, Oxford, Shueyville and Bertram. This includes the following highways... Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 230 and 253. Interstate 380 between mile markers 1 and 24. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
