WHERE...Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties WHEN...400 PM Monday June 15 to 400 PM Tuesday June 16 IMPACTS...Ozone Action Day Alert is now in effect for the Front Range Urban Corridor. Although ozone will remain in the Good to Moderate range on Monday, higher ozone levels in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category will be possible Tuesday afternoon and evening. Red Flag Warning issued June 16 at 11:38AM MDT until June 17 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Denver CO The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 211, 212, 213, 214, 217 and 218. * TIMING...From noon to 8 PM MDT Wednesday. * WINDS...West 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, strongest for the higher elevations. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 10 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
