Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Slow moving thunderstorms and those moving over the same areas feeding off a high moisture environment may result in rainfall rates in excess of 2-3"/hr. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued July 16 at 9:48PM MST until July 16 at 11:45PM MST by NWS Phoenix AZ * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Maricopa County in south central Arizona... * WHEN...Until 1145 PM MST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 948 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.25 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Salt River. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, East Mesa, Freestone Park, Gilbert City Hall, Downtown Mesa, Superstition Springs Mall, Fiesta Mall, Mesa Riverview Mall and Tempe Marketplace. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
