Flood Watch issued July 22 at 1:23PM AKDT until July 23 at 4:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...The following areas, Susitna Valley and Hatcher Pass. This includes the cities of Skwentna, Willow, Talkeetna, Trapper Creek, Petersville, and Chulitna. * WHEN...Through Thursday afternoon. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Area rivers, creeks, and streams are elevated from the previous rain event and will likely rise again over the next 24 hours. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A storm moving in today will bring an additional 1 to 2.5 inches of rain to the Susitna Valley and Hatcher Pass. As a result, fast responding rivers and streams along and east of the Parks Highway may be more susceptible to flooding with this event. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flood Advisory issued July 22 at 9:40AM AKDT until July 23 at 11:45AM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Kroto Creek and Moose Creek near Oilwell Road. * WHEN...Until 1145 AM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 940 AM AKDT, river gauge report for Moose Creek at Oilwell Road indicate rises in water levels from heavy rain across the advisory area. Minor flooding is expected, especially near Kroto Creek and Moose Creek. For Moose Creek at Oilwell Road: At 10am the stage was 16.55 feet. Minor flood stage is 16.5 feet.
