Wind Advisory issued July 21 at 11:15AM AKDT until July 23 at 4:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...South to southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 50 mph expected. * WHERE...Western Kenai Peninsula along and near Cook Inlet. * WHEN...From 1 AM to 4 PM AKDT Thursday. * IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects and a few power outages may result. Dipnetters and other recreational activities along Cook Inlet beaches will be impacted by high winds and rough seas, with 8 to 12 foot waves coming off of Cook Inlet. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The strongest winds will occur Thursday morning between around 7am and Noon. Cook Inlet beaches, especially from the Kenai River to Nikiski will see the highest wind gusts. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.
