Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. In northwest Alabama, Colbert, Lauderdale and Lawrence. * WHEN...Until 900 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 503 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flooding near Killen due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Florence, Athens, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Rogersville, Ardmore, Killen, Town Creek, Lexington, Leighton, Courtland, St. Florian, Tanner, Underwood- Petersville, North Courtland, Hillsboro, Elkmont, Anderson and Lester. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
